Room Glass Partition & Kitchen Fixed Glass Panels Plus Swing Door With Wellmax Metal Works

Our house is a 4rooms flat bto but it feels like the size of a 3rooms flat instead. So in order to make our house looks more spacious, we've hacked away partial of the room's wall that is next to the living room and also the kitchen wall to maximise our living room space. We wanted to have a glass partition for the room where we've hacked the wall away and a glass door for our kitchen. We feel that having a kitchen door is essential for us as we have a baby running away so a kitchen door will keep our baby away from the kitchen. It's definitely a nightmare to have a baby sneaking into the kitchen where there's fire, scotching hot water or even sharp knives! Tip for all parents or going-to-be parents who are planning to do renovation!

After doing research and going around asking for recommendations, we have decided to engage Wellmax Metal Works. We first sent in our enquiries, within a couple of days JianHao managed to liaise and arrange for an on-site meeting. During the meeting, Jianhao is able to click with us on our desired idea and design. He even gave interesting idea such as hiding our switch wires in the glass frame casing so we would not have unsightly casings running around the glass panel partition. 

Our kitchen is very small because we've hacked away the kitchen wall and pushed the kitchen back in to create a bigger living room. So after understanding our layout and needs, Jianhao adviced to install swing door instead of sliding door for our kitchen as the tracks of the sliding door will take up more space of the kitchen and resulting in a even smaller kitchen.

After confirming the designs and quotation, Wellmax Metal Works then proceeded with our order and took another trip down for the installation guys to plan how to build and install the room glass partition, kitchen fixed glass panels and swing door. Jianhao even took the effort to understand my moving in schedule and arrange everything to be installed almost 2 weeks before my moving in day so there's still some room in case of any hiccups. 

They did the installation of the room glass partition very efficient and the whole process took roughly 1hour. 

Once they've fixed the glass partition, they filled up all the gaps between the walls and the frames to ensure its all nicely sealed.

As you can see from this photo, there's quite a huge gap between my wall and the frame because the previous hacking company did not do a perfect job. Luckily Wellmax Metal Works is able to conceal all the gaps very well.

However, they didn't manage to install the kitchen fixed glass panels and swing door on the same day. They've called a few days before the installation date to inform that they found some scratches on the glass so they've redo the glass, hence the delay. Fortunately, Jianhao had catered some buffer time before my moving in day, so it did not affect my moving in schedule. With their stringent checks, I am very happy with their workmanship and quality. They really do ensure their workmanship and quality before delivering their works to their customers.

During the kitchen fixed glass panels and swing door installation, first they measured the hole they've cut out for the gas pipe to ensure there's no room for error.

Then they proceeded to do the work along the corridor so they could minimize the dirt from the drilling and etc. 

During the installing, they used to level to check that everything is upright straight and stable which I am very impressed. I have friend who had a very bad experience that her kitchen door is pretty slanted outwards which she had to complain and get them to fix the issue. 

The installation of the kitchen glass panels and swing door took about 2.5hours. This is the end result of my fixed glass panels with swing door and I love it so much! Its functional and so pretty! The swing door is totally customizable from swinging towards left or right to swinging inwards or outwards. 

So far I've really enjoyed my renovation journey with Wellmax Metal Works. They are really friendly bunch of people, great quality and workmanship.

Ouni Korean Eyelash Extension Course

Look! Now I am a certified Eyelash Extension Stylist! :D

All thanks to Ouni Korean Beauty & Skincare for inviting me over to attend their Korean Eyelash Extension course! 

The course is being held at Paya Lebar Square so its really convenient and accessible by public transport. Its a 1 Day course from 9am to 6pm. The course is conducted by Miss Yumi, she has a very strong background of Korean beauty as a internationally Beauty Trainer and Consultant for many years. Despite of being a true blue Korean, Miss Yumi is able to speak Mandarin and English fluently so communication is definitely not an issue. What I like about Miss Yumi is that she very friendly and keeps her lesson casual enough for everyone to feel comfortable to raise out any questions or approach her for any help. 

All the tools are being provided and everything can be brought back home to do further practices. 

Everything that we need to know about Korean eyelash extension will be covered by Miss Yumi during the course. Things like what type of extensions will compliment which type of eye shape or what are the various types of lashes in the market. All these are really insightful for someone like me who has almost zero knowledge. 

Next Miss Yumi will do demo to show us how it should be correctly done step by step. 

And here's the exciting part! We are free to do any kind of lash designs with the guidance of Miss Yumi. She will go to each student form time to time and guide us along.

After evaluating that we are good to move onto next stage, Miss Yumi will do a live demo to show us how to serve a customer step by step to ensure the customer's eyelashes is well taken care of and look pretty at the end of the session.

- Closed pump system with backflow prevention. I personally feel that this is really important as it saves my precious breastmilk and keeps everything hygienic.

- 3 way connector to give me the flexibility of single or double pumping. Most of the time, I'll do double pumping as it is less time consuming. However during the days which I feel my milk output is lower, I'll focus on hands-on single side pumping to achieve higher milk output.

- 9 levels of Expression and Massage mode. At the start, I'll go for Massage mode level 1 then slowly increase all the way to level 4 for about 5min. After which when my milk flow is a lot smoother, I'll change it to Expression mode and I'll start with level 1 then work all the way up to level 5 slowly. I personally feel that the Massage mode's rhythm definitely helps me to stimulate more milk and the Expression mode's suction is not way too strong that it'll cause my nipple to bleed or so. Most importantly it is able to help me clear my engorged breasts well enough!

- Having a low pumping noise level is definitely another plus point. I do my night pumping in the same room where Nat and Collin are sleeping in, so I need a low pumping noise level pump in order to not wake them up from their sleeps. Collin and Nat sleeping very soundly while I do my pumping.

- Smart Bluetooth function that is really handy for forgetful mums like me! It helps me to keep track of my milk output and alert me when its time for my next pump. Being able to control my pump from my phone, I can just happily surf the net or watch dramas and adjust my pump modes or levels conveniently as and when thru my phone.

- Comes with Breast Shield Covers which helps to keep the pumps clean and stay sterilized. Previously before I have Haenim 7S Bluetooth Breastpump, I'll always have to keep my other pumps in ziplock bags to store them instead. Also, the Breast Shield Covers can be used as a bottle support to prevent me from accidentally spilling my milk. I always do my pumping on my bed and risk having my milk bottles toppling over. But with the bottle support, it reduces my risk of toppling my milk bottles and waste my precious milk.

- Comes with silicon pad. This is a such a darling for me! It really makes my breasts feel so much more comfortable during pumping. It is really soft as well so my breasts would not feel so uncomfortable against the funnels.

Twelvelittle Companion Backpack Review

Bringing a baby out is like going to war literally with all the baby essentials to bring around plus handling a baby. So this extremely important to have the equipments to win the war (opps! I mean bring the baby out). To better prep myself for the war, I'm so blessed to received Twelvelittle Companion Backpack Black from Caden&Charles! This backpack is a such life saver for both Collin and me. First of all, we love the design of this backpack because its simple&sleek looking, plus its suitable for both mummy or daddy to carry around. It goes so well with any outfits! This is definitely a darling for mummies&daddies who are not into fanciful/girly/complicated designs.

Being new parents, we are on the kiasu side. We tend to bring a lot of extra sets for everything when we are out so to ensure that we are well covered for any unforeseen circumstances. Hence we always bring tonnes of diapers, huge packs of wipes, 3sets of baby clothing, 4-5 handkerchiefs, 4-5 milk bottles, 2bottles of water (1 hot 1 cold), milk powder, changing mat, body powder, loads of tissues and 2 pacifiers. All these are just the baby items, not including my wallet, portable charger and handphone. 

With so many things that I need to bring out, I'll need to squeeze everything into one single bag so it's more convenient for us to move around easily. So can you imagine how functional the bag has to be!? Miraculously Twelvelittle Companion Backpack is able to fit every single item into it which totally save us so much hassles! Even after fitting all of my items in, there's still plenty of space left!

Twelvelittle Companion Backpack is super lightweight which is a BIG plus point! With so many things inside the bag, the bag is still not very heavy for me to carry around all day. And also it's made with soft lightweight water-resistant nylon so I don't have to worry about the bag getting wet. It also comes with a super comfy changing mat! The print is also super duper cute! It is also the print of inner lining. The print is actually the 12 Zodiac animals. They are not too fancy or girly for Collin to use and for baby boy to lie on them. The changing mat has light padding and water resistant. 

All in all, both Collin and me are so in love with this Twelvelittle Companion Backpack. It is absolutely functional and great design for both daddies&mummies. We are so tempted to get more of the Twelvelittle diaper bags so we can mix and match around!

Postnatal Massage With The Outcall Spa

As mentioned previously from my Prenatal Massage with The Outcall Spa post, I am so in love with The Outcall Spa (www.theoutcallspa.com) so I have continued with them for my postnatal massage as well.

Its definitely not easy dealing with all the postnatal symptoms and overwhelming chores. Lucky for me, I have The Outcall Spa to help out with my flabby tummy, water retention body and aching arms/back.

What I really love about them is that I do not need to leave my house during my confinement period to enjoy the massages. We all know during confinement period, mummies ain't allowed to leave home due to some traditions. Imagine those mummies who stay with their In-laws were to go out during confinement period just for massage, I think those mummies would get into troubles with their In-laws who follow the confinement traditions strictly. But most importantly, I can attend to Nat who is just a room away from me if he needs me.

My postnatal massage package was completed by two masseurs, Cynthia and Flora. To be honest, I can decide I prefer which masseur more because both masseurs are really nice and equally good in their own ways. My first 3 sessions was done by Cynthia who is focuses more on the aching points on my shoulders and back. She is really good at easing all the tight knots and it feels shiok rather than pain. After each sessions, my aches seems to be better. My last 2 sessions was done by Flora. Her style is more of gentle and comfortable strokes yet still able to take the body aches away. Flora's style is more of a relaxing way of getting away the aches away as compared to Cynthia's style of pressure pressing to get rid of the aches. And also, many new mummies like me who are new to breastfeed will tend to have blocked milk ducts. The masseurs will massage and unblock those ducts too. After every massage session, my pumping sessions will be so much easier and smoother because all the blocked milk ducts are being unblocked by Cynthia and Flora! At the end of every session, they would apply ginger cream on my tummy and wrap it traditional bengkung binder. It gives a warm sensation at the tummy area which I feel it helps to get rid of the "coldness" in the tummy and burn the fats. They also gave me 2 packs of the bengkung binder so I can alternate clean and use them. After each binding, I can see that my tummy is firmer and more shaped. 

Another amazing point about The Outcall Spa Postnatal Massage is that they have a Thermal Blanket Therapy. I would usually hear about this therapy in those atas massage places and it surprised me that The Outcall Spa would bring the whole Thermal Blanket Therapy experience into my home too. They really bring everything to me which is really convenient and hassle-free for busy mummies like me! The therapy helps to reduce water retention by making the whole body sweat in a warm environment. Its similar to a sauna actually but you get to enjoy it in the comfort of your own home! All I have to do during the therapy is to lie down on the station bed and enjoy the warmth. For better result, you can use to apply serum, slimming cream or body lotion on your body so it'll be better absorbed by your skin during the therapy.  

Overall, I really love their massages and customer services. Every single one of them is extremely friendly and passion about their job. Even the guy who delivers and fixes the portable bed, he always smiles and greets every time. On top of it, they are always arrive 15min before the appt time and never once late. They have a couple of promotions going on every now and then, so do try it out and give yourself or spouse a good treat!

Hair Colouring with The Comb Hair Salon

Hellooooo peeps! 

I am so thrilled to receive hair colouring service from The Comb Hair Salon!

When I first reached the salon, the staff offered me drinks, went thru the colour booklet with me and explained to me the various type of hair colour available. 

Before visiting, I did some homework and search for some samples of my desired hair colours which are super light brown/grey. However, my hair stylist Michelle does not recommend me to do those colour because those colours require bleaching and it will further damage my already damaged hair. I feel that unlike some hairstylists who just blindly try to do the hair colour which I want and in the end my hair become beyond damaged, at least Michelle will give some advices, educate me on the possible end effects and leave the decision for me to make. End up, I decided to just go with normal dying and not bleach. Michelle tried her best to do the hair which I want without bleaching and still keep my hair healthy. 

The whole process only took about 1hour which I am pretty impressed. I think every hair stylist has a helper so they get extra hands to get their customer's hair done in the fastest time. Michelle and her helper really did a very fast but also nice hair service for me. 

The end result of my hair! 

Previously my hair was yellowish and it makes my hair looks very damaged plus my skin looks dull. With my new hair  colour being one tone darker, it makes my hair looks healthier than before. To be honest, my hair feels even smoother and shinier after the hair colouring which was not what I've expected. Usually after hair colouring, my hair will become even worse. So I am really happy with my new hair colour by The Comb Hair Salon!
